Bitcoin Hashrate Hits New High
The Bitcoin hashrate just hit a new all-time high, surpassing the previous record set on May 25th. The 7-day average hashrate reached **677 EH/s**, according to data from Blockchain.com. This indicates a surge in mining activity, possibly due to the recent drop in Bitcoin’s price, making it more profitable to mine.
This increase in hashrate makes the Bitcoin network more secure, as it becomes increasingly difficult for malicious actors to carry out a 51% attack. A higher hashrate generally reflects a healthy network with strong participation from miners.
