Bitcoin Whales Waking Up After Years of Sleep

Looks like some early Bitcoin adopters are finally cashing in on their long-held investments. A few dormant wallets have been activated recently, moving significant amounts of Bitcoin after years of inactivity.

One wallet, containing 31 Bitcoin, was activated after 11.9 years. The Bitcoin, which cost under $12 in 2012, was worth over $1,810,000 at the time of the transaction.

Another wallet, holding 35 Bitcoin, was activated after 10.5 years, having originally been purchased for around $21,600 in 2014.

These moves are part of a recent trend of ancient Bitcoin addresses being activated. In late August, a wallet moved 64.59 Bitcoin after being dormant for over 13.5 years. This Bitcoin was worth over $4,142,000 at the time of the transaction, having been purchased for just under $1 in 2011.

While the recent activity of these old Bitcoin wallets might be exciting, it’s important to remember that the market is volatile and past performance is not an indicator of future results. As always, do your own research and make informed decisions.
