EigenLayer Stakedrop: What You Need to Know
EigenLayer, a restaking protocol, is planning to airdrop 86 million EIGEN tokens. This is the second stakedrop from the project, following the first in April. The airdrop is set to reward loyal ETH stakers who have been using EigenLayer.
EigenLayer acts as a liquidity re-staking platform. Essentially, anyone can participate in consensus, even with a small amount of ETH. EigenLayer pools contributions, funnels them through Ethereum, and shares block rewards and associated fees.
The airdrop will begin anytime before or on September 17.
Who’s eligible for the EigenLayer Stakedrop?
To be eligible for the airdrop, you must have engaged with EigenLayer between March 15 and August 15. You will also need to verify your social identity by linking your wallet address to your social handles via the Eigen Foundation verification site by September 11.
This airdrop marks a significant step for EigenLayer, highlighting its commitment to building a decentralized staking ecosystem.
