Day 2 of the Paris Olympics is underway and India is already in the thick of it! Keep an eye on these athletes:
Shooting
- Manu Bhaker is in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol Final! She’s looking to bring home India’s first medal.
- The Women’s Archery Team, featuring Ankita Bhakat, Deepika Kumari, and Bhajan Kaur, is also in the hunt for a medal. They’ll be competing in the quarter-finals later today.
- Arjun Babuta and Sandeep Singh are in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle Qualification round. They’ll need a strong performance to make it to the medal rounds.
Badminton
- PV Sindhu is starting her Olympic journey against Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq of the Maldives.
- Lakshya Sen has already won his first match! He’s off to a great start in the Men’s Singles group stage.
Table Tennis
- Sreeja Akula is making her Olympic debut in the Women’s Singles Round of 64. She’s facing Christina Kallberg of Sweden.
- Sharath Kamal is also competing in the Men’s Singles Round of 64. He’s up against Deni Kozul of Slovenia.
- Manika Batra is taking on Anna Hursey of Great Britain in the Women’s Singles Round of 64.
